Edge Browser is faster than Chrome, claims Microsoft

Microsoft has released Windows 10 build 10240 taking yet another step towards the final release. The company hasn't provided any change log for this release, however it explains that the top priority of this release was to improve the speed of Microsoft's new Edge browser.

Since build 10240 is being believed to be the RTM, this is the closest one can get to the new Microsoft Edge browser. Microsoft has claimed that Edge performed way better than Google Chrome and Apple Safari in their own benchmark tests. Here are the results.

On WebKit Sunspider, Edge is 112% faster than Chrome.
On Google Octane, Edge is 11% faster than Chrome.
On Apple JetStream, Edge is 37% faster than Chrome.

Microsoft Edge will arrive in Windows 10 as an universal app which means the browser will look the same whether on a PC, tablet or a smartphone.
