How To Cancel Downloads Or Uploads In Android

In Android OS, all downloads and uploads are managed by a system app named Download Manager. This app is an integral part of the operating system. Often cancelling of downloads becomes a challenging task in Android. The problem is especially faced while downloading files using Google Chrome. Since there is no cancel button, users are unable to stop the download process in a simple way. This can happen during uploading too. Say, the network connection is slow and you've initiated uploading of a file to Google Drive. It will take forever to upload and there's no way you can stop it. So here is the solution to this frustration.

1. Go to Settings > Apps > All.
2. Scroll down to find Download Manager. Tap on it.
3. Touch on Force Stop.
4. Now tap on Clear Data. That's all folks.

This way you can stop uploading or downloading of files to your Android device.

Doesn't work, there is no "all" to press. Can you come up with something that works?

You have to slide to "All" section in the Apps page by dragging from right to left.
