Everything You Need To Know About Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Edge is the new name to the Project Spartan browser which is due to be shipped along with Windows 10. The new browser is about to replace Internet Explorer although IE11 would also be included with Windows 10 for legacy compatibility. Microsoft Edge is a fast browser running the Edge rendering engine instead of the Trident engine found in IE. Though Edge browser's icon still sports an 'E', it is a little bit different from that of IE's icon.

One of the most exciting new features in Edge browser is extensions. Extensions are not something new to web browsers but compared to IE which had very poor extensibility, Edge promises to bring the full extension functionality like Chrome and Firefox. If that's the good new then there is some bad news too which is the extension feature wont ship with Windows 10 this summer but will arrive on a later date. Microsoft Edge also supports Cortana integration which would enable users to get relevant information. Microsoft has also revamped the New Tab page in Edge which now shows top sites, apps and video suggestions, sports score and weather. Other features in Microsoft Edge browser include Reading View, Page Annotations and built-in sharing. It is apparent from the name that with the introduction of this new browser, Microsoft is trying to edge past other browsers in town. But will they succeed?
