Google Chrome will end support for Windows XP, Vista, Mac OS X 10.8 on April 2016

Google has announced that it is ending support for Windows XP and Vista users along with those on older versions of Mac OS X in April 2016. This means users on older versions of Windows and Mac OS X wont receive any further updates, however the browser will still continue to work on such computers.

Microsoft had pulled out extended support for Windows XP on April 2014. Since then many software firms have stopped supporting Windows XP. At that point of time, the search engine giant had announced that Google Chrome would continue support for Windows XP till April 2015, which was later extended for the remainder of 2015. But now the support for old, unsupported platforms are ending and Google will also plug out support for Windows Vista which still enjoys Microsoft's Extended Support. Old versions of Apple's operating system i.e. Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7 and 10.8 will also no longer receive updates and security fixes.

Now it seems that hard times are really beginning for users on old and unsupported platforms as they are left with only two choices of major browsers - Firefox and Opera. Google is encouraging people to move to a newer operating system to ensure they receive the latest Chrome versions and features. Will these old horses really die?
