LibreOffice 4 is a free and fully functional office suite for Windows, Linux and Mac OSX. LibreOffice consists of 6 applications - Writer, Calc, Impress, Base, Math and Draw similar to Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access. It is fully compatible with Microsoft's Office file formats. LibreOffice Writer allows you to create and edit text documents with ease. It's predictive word assistance predicts words before you actually type them. On the other hand Calc (similar to Excel) also does well in its area. But one thing to mention is that Calc has its own macro and programming language which is incompatible with MS Office's VBA. LibreOffice Impress helps you create stunning presentations and then export them to PDF and Flash (.swf). The other applications included in this suite are also capable. Altogether this office suite is worth trying.
