How to Convert .pps file to .ppt format

Sometimes we come across files downloaded from the net having .pps extension. These files open directly as full screen slideshow and closes upon completion of the presentation. There are no ways to edit .pps files. One has to convert these files to .ppt format in order to edit them. Converting a file from .pps to .ppt is easy and does not require any special software. Just follow the steps given below.

  1. Open Microsoft Office PowerPoint.
  2. In PowerPoint, click on File and then Open from the drop-down menu. A dialog box appears. Select the .pps file which you want to convert and click on the Open button.
  3. The .pps file opens in PowerPoint. Now again go to File >> Save As. In the Save as type box below the File name box select Presentation from the drop down list. Browse for the desired location where you wish to save the flie and click on Save button. That's it! Your .pps file has been converted to .ppt format and you can now edit them.
